About Wakoli Knives

Precision-crafted blades for culinary excellence

About CookMaster

Our Story

Wakoli Knives began in 1997 when master bladesmith Heinrich Wakoli combined traditional Japanese knife-making techniques with German engineering precision. After apprenticing with renowned bladesmiths in Solingen and Seki, Heinrich established a small workshop in Bavaria dedicated to creating knives that would satisfy the most demanding chefs.

What started as a boutique operation crafting custom knives for Michelin-starred restaurants has evolved into a respected brand that maintains its unwavering commitment to quality while making exceptional knives accessible to serious home cooks. Each Wakoli knife still passes through at least 27 distinct production steps, many performed entirely by hand by our team of skilled artisans.

Our distinctive hammered Damascus pattern isn't just visually striking - it represents our philosophy of blending tradition with innovation to create tools that perform flawlessly while honoring centuries-old craftsmanship.

Our Mission

At Wakoli, we believe that exceptional cooking begins with exceptional tools. Our mission is to craft knives that inspire confidence in the kitchen, allowing both professional chefs and home cooks to execute their culinary vision with precision and joy.

We're dedicated to preserving traditional knife-making methods while embracing modern metallurgy and ergonomic design. This balance ensures our knives offer superior edge retention, perfect balance, and comfortable handling - even during extended prep sessions.

Beyond creating superior cutting instruments, we're committed to educating our customers about proper knife techniques, care, and maintenance, ensuring your Wakoli knife remains a trusted kitchen companion for decades.
